It has been quite awhile since the last I updated my page. Kinda missing everyone here :-D. Hope everyone had a good time celebrating Raya this time. We were in Perak since Sat, 27 Sep until noon of 2nd Raya. Since schedule was very tight we couldn't visit everyone in Perak. Arrived Muar evening of 2nd Raya & came back to KL last Sunday after the massive jam along the hiway. With a heavy heart, I had to come to work on Monday & as expected work piled up. I will be tied until year end & may not be able to update as often. Thousand apologies to those that I've not responded to your comments but I will try to find time to visit everyone here kay, don't worry ;-) Here are some photos that I could share. As I mentioned earlier I won't be able to update so frequently during this month as I'm tied with other things & recently took a week leave when Kakak sat for her UPSR exam. It's just like the banana pancake but it's wrapped in banana leaf. The only place that I can find this tepek pisang is at Restoran Haslam at Jln Pahang Barat I prepared this sambal goreng tempe ahead of Ramadhan as an appetiser for buka puasa & sahur. :-D. It's also good for snacking. Time really flies & in a few days time we'll be in the month of Ramadhan. Taking this opportunity I would like to apologise to all of you if there's any mistakes or wrongdoings along the friendship trail. Happy Ramadhan to all & may Allah shower us His blessings. I may not be able to update this FP so frequently during the month of Ramadhan. I'll try as much as I could to visit all of you (FP). This is the last entry that I can share before we start fasting next Monday. I was touched seeing the entries of Kuala Kangsar in friends' FP. Had the chance to go back recently & here are some pix of my beloved kampung. I was born here but brought up in Ipoh. The clock tower is one of the landmark that can be seen when one reaches the KK town. Along down the road you will find Sungai Perak and this is the centre of business activities. There are food, handicrafts, sovenirs & the well known labu Sayong. One can find the best laksa KK & also cendol. One of my favourites is the popia but unfortunately it was not sold on that day. We bought our laksa from here- as recommended by my grandaunt (Pah Chu) as it's her friend who's selling. Usually we buy from another place near the bazaar. Another favourite of mine is putu piring. It's unlike the putu piring you can find at the pasar malam in KL which uses brown sugar & coconut. The filling is just the plain coconut. Nowadays I can't find a real good one as those days. Here's the famous Masjid Ubudiah & Makam Diraja. As my kampung is just down the valley, the mosque used to be our playplace during childhood time whenever we were back in Bukit Chandan. Madrasatul Idrisiah is just across the mosque. This is my Pah Chu's house. Originally it was a lovely Perak design wooden house belonged to my great great grandfather, Haji Wan Muhammad who was the first Mufti of Perak. In actual fact Lembah Masjid is a waqaf land awarded to Haji Wan Muhammad by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Yusuff at that time. That's a lil bit on my ancestor.I was born in that wooden house & that may be one of the reason why the place is near at heart. ;-) Having to know of our return, Pah Chu had reserved some of the sweet juicy rambutans from the tree infront the house. We were supposed to meet up at McD somewhere near Masjid Shah Alam. Early Sunday morning my h/phone buzz. SMS from Azue, the venue has been changed to Starbucks & the best thing is a good samaritan :-D sponsored for the gathering. Yippie..thank you so much to Salleh. May Allah shower you His blessings. Reached there around 3.30pm & I recognized all the faces of the FP owners. Approached them but no one acknowledge me as I'm not familiar. $-) $-) My remark was " Tak kenal ye? tak pe tak kira nak duduk gak." LOL LOL Nabilah was asleep that time. When she awoke then only they realized it was me LOL LOL Everything went on smoothly & Wak arrived around 4.30pm. Everyone was like so excited, the YB is in town. Look at how engrossed everyone was :-D It was such a lovely afternoon having the chance to meet up with some of the FP friends. Even the spouses, children & mothers acquainted to each other. Azue's mom was so sporting. She should meet up with my mak & they'll be great company.To all my friends, you are all so wonderful, am glad having bunch of great friends around. As for me it's another ordinary day though it carries a nice number & considered gud feng shui to the believers. Both kuah durian & puding pisang were prepared last nite. This puding pisang is a recipe from my late great grandmother-Nyang (alfatihah to arwah). All of a sudden I thot of her. Mak was brought up by her since she was born. Nyang passed away when I was in Std 3. Those days when mak prepared this puding I don't really fancy it as it is sweet & milky. I prefer spicy dishes. Yesterday was my first try and I kind of like it. Not so bad. Usually mak will steam it but I had baked it using the steam bath method.
